Me

I read a lot, and in my day job, I’m a romance novel editor. So I think a lot about emotion, conflict, storytelling, relationship-building, project management and the swiftly changing nature of publishing and author brands. (And all opinions expressed here are mine and not my employer’s.)

But I also spend a great deal of time thinking about child development, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, educational reforms, neuroscience, the effects of sugar and exercise on the body, attention, working memory, parenting skills, nature and ecology and how all of this fits into the raising of two boys in Brooklyn, one of whom has special needs. (As Elaine Aron says, if you have an exceptional child, you have to be willing to have an exceptional child. This is a work in progress for me.)

I also tend to throw around ideas on politics and religion, sometimes, because I’m crazy like that. And I’m not averse to discussing lots of other stuff, too, like sociology, ecology, work-life balance, medical anthropology, education, entrepreneurial endeavors, farming, urban design and ROI.

I used to do two blogs. One about publishing and writing. (You can find those older posts in the archives of this blog.) And another about parenting and daily life. Those posts can be found here: With Charlie.

Now I’m combining all of my writing into one blog, and I have no idea what will come of it. All I know is that when a dedicated editor and reader is raising a boy whose nemesis is words, interesting things happen.

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to find me, you can comment on the blog, follow me on Twitter or comment on my blog’s page on Facebook. I’m also on Goodreads and LinkedIn. You can always email me at stacyboydbooks [at] gmail [dot] com, but be warned that I don’t check it very often.

I found this wonderful place not long ago and absolutly love it.Of course I don’t have to worry about ulcers as I publish my own particular brand of drivel on my blog.I will have to remember to stop in here from time to time to make sure you’re not getting any ulcers……

I’m a publisher, and have some ulcer dissolving solutions, but these are mainly suitable for Swiss dwellers
